How to care for a neutered cat? | Care Guide

After spay/neuter surgery, cats need extra care to help them recover quickly. Here are tips for care:

1. Provide a comfortable environment

Keep the cat in a quiet, warm and non-stimulating environment and avoid strenuous exercise or jumping. Keep the cat indoors, it is appropriate to restrict its activities and avoid contact with unneutered cats of the opposite sex.

2. Dietary management

Make sure you don't feed your pet too early or too much.

You can feed a small amount of easy-to-digest food 5-8 hours after surgery and observe the digestion. If there is no   abnormality, the normal amount of food can be resumed   gradually, but avoid overfeeding. Drinking water should also   be controlled, and only a small amount of water should be   given initially to prevent nausea. Do not add new food as this   may cause digestive problems.

 3. Pay attention to wound care

An Elizabethan ring must be used to avoid the cat licking the wound. Make sure to check the surgical site twice a day for any unexpected symptoms. Consult your veterinarian as soon as possible if you notice any of the following symptoms: persistent bleeding, persistent redness and swelling, loss of appetite, lethargy, difficulty in breathing, unstable mood, bad odour, diarrhoea, bruising, abnormal body temperature, trembling, etc.

     4. Comply with the veterinarian's instructions to take medication on time and follow up on time.

Let love and patience accompany your cat back to health, and the de-sexed cat will enter a healthier and happier life!
